 Cindy
Peterson, our first advisory board member elected by Harvey Phillips,
is a proud tuba mom and tuba supporter. She and her husband Jay,
have not only contributed much needed business sense to the welfare
of The Harvey Phillips Northwest “Big Brass” Bash,
but have also contributed much in spirit and good feeling toward
the success of BBb.
Cindy is Business Manger for Erickson McGovern, an architectural
firm specializing in K-12 educational facilities in Tacoma, WA.
She is past Executive Director of The American Institute of Architects
Southwest Washington Chapter with experience in Board Management,
Event and Conference Planning, marketing and management. Prior
to her arrival at the AIA she was owner of Cynthia Peterson’s
Catering and Event Planning for 14 years with an extensive “Who’s
Who” of clients. She has served on several boards including
the Junior League of Tacoma, Ballet Tacoma and the Pierce County
Library Foundation Board.
When not working or escorting the “Tuba Guy” all
over the country she enjoys traveling, entertaining, cooking,
snow skiing, quasi gardening, listening to any rehearsal and
playing with her “boys”, Benny her English setter,
Enzo her Wheaton Terrier and Chester her Persian cat. Her and
Jay have 3 children, Elizabeth 22, Brandon 20 and Jens (Tuba
Guy) 15. Along with that, their home is always open to any tuba
player passing thru!
